Designers Choice Examples
Step-by-Step guide for designing perimeters with Designer’s Choice Perimeter System:
1. Determine the best cabinet depth for each space. Depths offset in 4" increments. (10" - 14" - 18" - 22" - 26")
2. Determine the best cabinet height for each space. Heights offset in 10" increments. (82" - 92" - 102")
3. Choose upright thickness or combinations of thicknesses.
4. Choose design detail for upright front edges. (3/4" taped edge - 6" moulding)
5. Choose header height and detailing. Headers are not required when top caps are used. Header heights are 3-1/4" or 6-1/2".
6. Determine best cabinet width and height which determines the length of kickboards and headers and the size of backs. Backs can be plain or slatwall.
7. Choose top cap detail, if included in the design. If headers are not used, top caps are required.
8. Choose Oak or Maple with clear lacquer or stained finish. Some designs are also available in wood-grained Oak or Maple Melamine.
9. Choose optional laminate (+) or color stripe (=).
10. Choose accessories.
Example 1: 18" Deep x 49-1/2" Wide x 92" High - Single cabinet with taped edges (T) includes Uprights, Back Panel, Header, Kickboard, Bottom and Top Shelf (behind Header).

Example 2: 18" Deep x 54" Wide x 92" High - Single (starter) cabinet with 3" Uprights (T30T), Back Panel, Header, Kickboard, Base and Top shelf and five adjustable shelves.

Example 3: 18" Deep x 49-1/2" Wide x 92" High - Single cabinet with taped edges (T) and Bin Insert Kit. Includes Uprights, Back Panel, Header, Kickboard, and Bin Insert Kit. Bin Insert Kit includes Base Shelf, Divider Shelves, Top Divider Shelf (behind Header) and Bin Dividers.

Example 4: 14" Deep x 147" Wide x 92" High - Starter with two add-on units. Taped edge Uprights (T), Back Panels, Headers, Kickboards, Base and Top Shelves, and six adjust shelves in each section.

Example 5: This is the same configuration as Example 3, with the addition of black trim on the end panels (2P0), and black crown (5PC1).

Example 6: 22" Deep x 147" Wide x 92" High - One unique feature with our Designer's Choice system, is it allows you to vary the depth and height, creating unique presentations. In this example, the center section uses 22" Deep uprights (for 20" shelves) with the wings using 18" Deep uprights (for 16" shelves).

Example 7: 22" Deep x 162" Wide x 98" High (including top cap) - Taking the same stairstep design to the next level, this example shows 6" thick center uprights (T60) and 3" thick outside uprights (T30T). The headers and top moulding are 6P9-2. Shelves are shown with P2 Fronts.

Example 8: 22" Deep x 156" Wide x 92" High + Crown - Stairstep design with 3" thick Uprights (3P3) and Headers (6P3). The Crown Moulding Top Cap is pattern 6PC1. The adjustable shelves are taped and the center section has a Hangrod and SlatRail with Waterfall Faceouts.

Example 9: 18" Deep x 147" Wide x 92" High - Three section run with taped edges (PT). Accessories include Adjustable Shelves, and Hangrod.

Example 10: 22" Deep x 162" Wide x 98" - 6" Thick Uprights (6P11C) with Rosettes outside and 3" Thick Uprights (3P11) inside. Headers and Top Caps with moulding pattern 6P11-2. (Remember Headers are optional if a Top Cap is used.) This Top Cap projects out 10" to accomodate optional lighting. Accessories include Adjustable Shelves with P11 moulding, Hangrod, and Slatrail with Waterfall Faceouts.

Example 11: 22" Deep x 147" Wide x 92" High - Center inset Desig. Three cabinet run with taped edges (PT). The center unit is not as deep or high as the wings to create an inset design. Accessories include Adjustable Shelves, Hangrod, and Slatrails with Waterfall Faceouts.

Example 12: 22" Deep x 162" Wide x 98" - Another example of a center inset design. Outside panels are 6" Thick (6P2) with 3" thick center (add-on) panels (3P2). Headers and Top Caps (6P9-2). Accessories include Adjustable Shelves with P2 front.
